Congratulations to Linda Wiratan, Goldwater Scholar!

Congratulations to Linda Wiratan '19, biochemistry and molecular biology, and member of the Honors College, on being named a Goldwater Scholar for 2018-2019. Linda has conducted research in on-campus labs directed by Professor Marcin Ptaszek, of the chemistry and biochemistry departments, and Professor Hua Lu, of the biological sciences department. Her research focuses on the natural defense systems of the plant Arabidopsis thaliana, which can contribute to our understanding of how to control diseases and develop new medicines.
