From the very start of their time at UMBC, Honors College members belong to a small community of talented students connected outside the classroom as well as inside. On-campus social events and off-campus cultural experiences in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and elsewhere in the region are an integral part of an education in the Honors College. The Honors College is dedicated to realizing the deeper promise of the university experience, so that our motto — “Learning for Living” — becomes a reality for every student.
The Honors Living-Learning Community
The Honors College Living-Learning Community (LLC), located in Susquehanna Hall, offers freshman Honors College students the chance to continue their collaborative learning experiences in a relaxed, residential setting. Students are able to pursue a range of academic and social activities with their peers, and to develop strong friendships through common goals, classes, conversation, and fun. A perk of Honors College membership, freshman year on the Honors LLC is often cited by graduating seniors as one of the most rewarding experiences of their time at UMBC.
For more information about the Honors LLC, email Dr. Julie Oakes at juloakes@umbc.edu.
