Shannon Cole '18, Biology and member of the Honors College, has been named UMBC's Intern of the Week! Shannon spent the summer researching at the Food and Drug Administration through an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) internship. Shannon's research focused on monitoring post-market drug quality through data mining and laboratory work.
"By the end of my time at the FDA," Shannon says, "I found I had learned so much and gained so many valuable experiences. My internship experience has greatly influenced my future career goals and taught me skills that I would not have learned in a classroom."
Way to go, Shannon!
