Description
Dr. David Hoffman, Director of the Center for Democracy and Civic Life, is one of the architects of BreakingGround, a UMBC initiative to involve students, faculty, staff and community partners in social change projects that accomplish meaningful goals and produce progress. His research focuses on using higher education to encourage and empower students to engage in civic community.
You may also know Dr. Hoffman from recent courses he's taught in the Honors College, like HONR 200: Talking Democracy and HONR 300: Be Your Best Self in Real Life.
Dr. Hoffman's topic: How to Find Direction and Purpose by Asking the Right Questions
How do you identify your passions, develop a strong sense of purpose, and set goals for your career and community contributions? Dr. Hoffman will share stories from his quest for a meaningful life and pose questions that can help you on your own.
