Love Japanese culture? Want to learn more about its rich history and exquisite traditions? Join us on Wednesday, March 27th in the Honors College Lounge for a discussion on "Art and Power in Japan" with our very own Dr. Julie Oakes! Come for the dynamic, engaging discussion; stay for the food.

More on Dr. Oakes below:
Dr. Oakes teaches courses for the History Department and Asian Studies Program. She served as the Interim Director of the Asian Studies Program in 2017 and is the current Sophomore Academic Advisor for the Honors College. As the Baltimore Seminar Coordinator for the National Consortium for Teaching About Asia, Dr. Oakes works to organize seminars to promote research on East Asia and specializes in Japanese history.
