Tickets are now on sale for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's performance of The Rite of Spring on Thursday, February 22, 2018.
A bus will leave the Performing Arts & Humanities Building at 6:30 P.M. for the 8 P.M. show. Tickets cost $10, which includes transportation and the performance, and can be purchased in Honors College using money on your UMBC red card (not flex dollars). These tickets are going to sell quick, so get yours soon!
This is easily one of the best opportunities to see live music you'll have this year. Stravinsky's Rite of Spring is a legendary piece with a fascinating history -- a riot broke out at its premiere in 1913! -- and it really has to be experienced in concert at a venue like the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. As if that weren't enough, also performing during the concert is the saxophonist Branford Marsalis, who's among the most respected musicians alive today. You've got the opportunity to see a musician of world-class talent and a piece of music of world historical importance on the same night -- $10 is a pretty good deal!
