Anna Gifty Opoku-Agyeman '19, Mathematics and Economics and member of the Honors College, is our university's Researcher of the Week! Anna has been conducting research on the relationship between early childhood malaria and educational attainment in Ghana, her home country. Her mentors are Dr. Tim Gindling of the Economics Department and Dr. Laura Cohee at the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Institute for Global Health. Anna plans to share her research with Ghanaian state agencies and the Ghanaian public at large, with the UMBC community at next year's URCAD, and with the broader public health community by submitting her research to several journals.
