Join us on Friday November 9th in the Honors College Lounge during free hour for an informal lunch with Professor Sebastian Deffner, Ph.D. Dr. Deffner is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Physics and the leader of the Quantum Thermodynamics Group. His professional research interests encompass all topics of Quantum Thermodynamics. Dr. Deffner has recently received a grant from the Foundational Questions Institute (FQXi) in order to expand research on energy and information processing. Dr. Deffner, along with a collaborator from CalTech, published an innovative paper in February 2018 which focused on the use of energy in very small systems with high energy. The grant from FQXi will be used to further investigate this subject.
