Congratulations to Honors College Alum Andrew Holter!

The Honors College is extremely proud of Andrew Holter, ’12, History and English, for writing the February 15, 2017 cover story for Baltimore’s City Paper. The piece titled “Our Town: What the Rise of Nazism Looked Like in Baltimore During the 1930s” looks at the events of several days between 1934 and 1940 that illustrate the complicated and varied reactions Baltimoreans had to the rise of Nazism in Germany. The article especially highlights the different reactions that groups of diverse national and religious backgrounds had to fascism.

Andrew is a regular columnist for City Paper and is currently finishing his Master of Arts degree in History at UMBC. His graduate research focuses on counterintelligence and the Black Panther Party in Baltimore during the late 1960s.

Congratulations, Andrew, on your major achievement! We cannot wait to see what great accomplishments your future holds!
